Event Diary and reports for the Whitbourne Reredos Restoration project

Listed here are the events and milestones etc. that are scheduled, and reports (where appropiate) of past events.

Forthcoming events:

  • No more events are planned now the restoration is complete!

Past events:

  • September 4th, 2006: Cliveden Conservation started dismantling and removing the reredos central and side panels.
  • September 15th, 2006: Dismantling of side (tiled) panels is complete. Preparation started to prepare the main mosaic (picture) panel  for removal. See pictures on the Gallery page.
  • October 2006: At the conservators' workshop the main panel is prepared for restoration. At the church, the outside of the east wall, below the window, is re-pointed using matching lime mortar. See pictures.
  • February 2007: Most of the restoration is complete, including the "fireplace" inset. See pictures.
  • 7.30pm Friday 4th May, 2007: "JOYOUS SYMPHONY", celebrated gospel choir from Aston, first time in Whitbourne!
  • 2pm Saturday 5 May: Children's Party.
  • 7.30pm Saturday 5 May: BROMYARD WIND BAND, old favourites return!
  • 10am Sunday 6 May: Holy Communion and Baptism of Rebecca May Howell with the Bishop of Hereford
